Christmas makes!

Christmas is just around the corner and this year has been all change for us!

No more evening trips to Selfridges or Liberty after work – oh no – maternity leave and a 4 month old means that 6pm is now the start of the bedtime routine. Oh how life has changed!

The lead up to Christmas got me thinking about hobbies I used to have before the little man was born – what did I do in my spare time?

I went to nice restaurants in town – strike

I went to nice bars and drank wine / cocktails – strike

I went to the gym 3 times a week – strike!

Hmmmmmm, but I also did some crafts…….not a strike, and definitely doable with a baby (when he is in bed!)

Cue a trip to hobbycraft, and £50 later – I had supplies! I would make my own Christmas cards and gift tags! Would have been cheaper to buy the ready made products, but where is the fun in that?!

Pinterest was my inspiration (as it has been for my wedding, friends hen do’s, birthday presents, babies nursery etc etc) – love love love that app!

So for a week every night after putting the little man to bed I got my glue gun out and had some fun! I didn’t realise how much I missed taking some time out for myself and to focus on something else!

Making the cards was so much fun, and time was running away with me most evenings! (Time flies when you’re having fun!) The cards have now all been written and posted out across the country…..

The presents however all need wrapping so these little beauties can be attached!

So the run up to Christmas for me this year has been about finding myself again, and linking in with my creative side as a mummy!
